Labor and Delivery: Zia's Dramatic Entrance Into the World

Andee had to get up throughout breakfast to work through each contraction. We called Cynthia after breakfast to let her know how things were going. She said things sounded good and that we should go for another walk. Also, she said that this was still early labor. We would be in active labor when the contractions brought Andee to her knees. (Yeah, right - Andee was soooooo in shape, she was sure that this already was active labor and the baby was going to be here in a couple of hours. In fact, she was pleased with how well she was managing each of these contractions. She was probably 5 or 6 cms dilated at this point.)
