Gran Canaria
And this was our ROOM! It was very Peach. And Pink. Not my favorite colors. And we had twin beds. For the first night of our honeymoon, we slept on a crack. We were pretty exhausted when we arrived. Due to the fact that Iberia airlines (the leg of the flight from Madrid to Gran Canaria) is a pretty crappy airline. We sat in the airport for hours. They kept on delaying the flight due to "technical difficulties." There we were, trying to keep our eyes open, with people smoking like it was the last day on earth all around us. There were no "sections." So you could sit down in a kind of clean area, and then anyone could walk up and sit next to you and start smoking. By the time the flight was ready to take off, we were in a pretty grumpy mood. We didn't have seats next to each other, so we practiced how to ask if we could trade seats in spanish. Then we gave up and asked the airline stewardess to ask the people. Then it turned out that they were American. (They let us trade seats.) The flight attendant was cool. She was climbing up on seats and shoving things around in the overhead bins to make it all fit. They don't announce boarding for the plane in a particular seat order. Everyone just lines up and makes a run for it. So we arrived late in the afternoon rather than arriving in the morning, like scheduled. We took a nap immediately. On the crack. And then we went out to explore the area.
