Arezzo
This is a detail of Piero's cycle. I noted in my journal that the tour was a bit of a disappointment. It was all in Italian, but you had to go on the tour to be able to see the cycle. Also, half of the altar was closed for restoration. Restoring Piero's works were extra difficult due to a bad restoration from the 50s and the fact that Piero used techniques to create colors that were very different and unique, thus it was hard to figure out the proper technique and color for restoration.
I wasn't that impressed, but I've since found out that Arezzo was one of Michael's favorite places during our trip. I failed to enjoy what WAS available to us. I reacted instead to what wasn't. Bad me. Cause it really was a lovely town...
