Venice

We planned to do a couple of walking tours for our one day in Venezia. We like to get books that lead you on little tours in the city and tell you about the architecture and the history. It's really fun. We took the first tour to the touristy area (and the pigeons). Piazza San Marco. Michael thought the Basilica was totally out of sorts - too ornate for his tastes, especially since the majority of their decoration resulted in the pillaging that occurred during their battles with other countries throughout history. No wonder it's one of the world's precious cultural treasures. It's covered with relics from all over.
