Our Colorado Vacation: Cumberland Pass
For this is the dirt road we had to crawl down. It wound and wound for fourteen miles. And we were in little Grommit. Oh and the car rental guy had specifically said that tire chains weren't allowed on Grommit because they didn't want us to do any off-roading. Hee, hee. Ha, ha. You can't get through Colorado without doing off-roading. Colorado is why the car industry invented trucks and four-wheel drive. All these passes that we visited aren't open in the winter. They're snowed over. They're only open during the summer. That means dirt roads. And potholes.
